Success Stories
As the lead for the Chamber’s Mentoring Program, I have the privilege for collaborating with interns from Lamar State College Port Arthur, Texas Workforce Solutions, and other workforce experience entities.
One of our fantastic success stories here at the Greater Port Arthur Chamber of Commerce has been a young lady named, Ms. Marissa Rodriguez.
Marissa was introduced to the chamber by the Texas Workforce Solutions Program right here in Port Arthur, Texas.
‘’My time at The Chamber was amazing, I was always happy, but very shy. Joe took the time to work with me and showed me the professional way to handle different situations, as well as getting me out of my comfort zone. Every day I learned something new. Knowing that, I was able to grasp multiple skills that I know I will use in my future endeavors’’.
Marissa’s advice to people coming into the program is, ‘Always be ready to learn and to be open to new training and skill development. It will help you in the future’’.
The Chamber is extremely proud and honored to have had Ms. Marissa here in our program. We are delighted to know that she became experienced with numerous job skills here at the chamber and that she will continue to be amazing. We wish her the best!
