Bolivar Peninsula Annual Banquet
On April 13, I was the keynote speaker at the Bolivar Peninsula’s Annual Banquet. Here is a summary of my speech.
Collectively, we are more influential and powerful, than we are separately.
You, Bolivar Peninsula, have 173 businesses that are members of your chamber and 28 individuals, many with different business objectives. Beach and Bay Realty and Bradley & Steele Law Firm have different interest than Jose Cantina. Yet the common element important to each of them is to stay in business and to thrive in a business environment. These common objectives together is what makes Chambers of Commerce important to a community. We are so fortunate to live in a State that loves businesses and supports them extremely well. This is why companies like Tesla and SpaceX‘s Elon Musk are leaving California and moving to Texas.
A Chamber’s goals, among other things, is to lobby our legislators to ensure that the climate for businesses remain strong.
When businesses cannot speak out on controversial issues, your chamber can speak for you without fear of retribution.
It is essential that you support your chamber financially, but also support them with your talent. Making sure that your chamber fully understands business necessities is “a Must”. Your volunteerism enhances your chamber’s credibility. Your chamber needs you!
In closing, let me thank you for allowing me to be your keynote speaker and if my chamber and I can ever be of service to you, please do not hesitate to let me know.
I wish for you a very peaceful hurricane season and if you are ever in Port Arthur stop by and see me on your way to the Port Neches Wheelhouse. We are proud of the Golden Triangle’s native son, Lance Bradley being the Treasurer of the Bolivar Peninsula’s Chamber of Commerce and one of the owners of the Port Neches Wheelhouse.
