The Krewe of Aurora Mardi Gras Ball was a blast. I haven’t seen that many feathers since I drove my car through Ms. Johnson’s chicken pen when I was 17 back in Nacogdoches. Beautiful gowns, the guys all looking like James Bond in their tuxedos. The beads were flying and being fought for as they settled into the crowd. The laser lights were spelling out sponsor names and Cajun music was blaring. If this is any indication of what’s to come at the Mardi Gras later this week, you had better not miss it. SEE YOU THERE.
